Mission

The IBRO Programme for Equipment Donation helps identify and facilitate the delivery of used donated equipment to interested labs in economically underprivileged countries.

IBRO is developing a database, encompassing both offered equipment and requests for equipment, which will be made public on the IBRO website. The IBRO Secretariat will match the donations with recipients and will provide advice to facilitate the transfer of equipment.

Neuroscientists who wish to donate equipment in good working condition should make this known to IBRO. Neuroscientists in countries with poor resources who are interested in such pieces of equipment should send their request to the IBRO Secretariat once the list of equipment is published, describing their needs and how the equipment could be transferred to their sites.

It is hoped that donors and recipients will remain in contact afterwards to facilitate optimal use of the equipment and to promote collaboration and friendship. Presently, IBRO's priority is to obtain donations that will help equip the laboratories of the Neuroscience Schools it supports.
